Factory Automation

The factory automation market comprises a wide range of equipment used to automate machinery, equipment and manufacturing processes. The electronics portion of this market alone is estimated to be worth over $75 billion each year. Our company has been providing data on this market since 1995, when we first produced a study on AC & DC motor drives.

Our strength was first established in discrete automation; in recent years, however, we have continued to grow our process electronics offering to provide a more rounded portfolio of market research.

Our coverage of the motor market is unrivalled, as it is that of motor control. We enhance our portfolio by addressing non-electronic equipment areas including electromechanical actuators, switchgear and pneumatic equipment. Further, we track and quantify machinery production, a key target market for factory automation equipment, on a quarterly basis; this data helps drives our reports on growth of shipments of industrial equipment.

In addition to the in-depth studies of specific equipment, we provide a service targeted at executive management; that tracks quarterly, almost entirely from primary data, the total electronic automation market. No other vendor has sufficient coverage to offer this service with a comparable degree of accuracy.
